Confusing subspecies names in genus of Green-backed Hillstar

I am aware of some scientific names which may not necessarily be lapses. My source is A Complete Checklist of the Birds of the World by Richard Howard and Alick Moore (1980 edition, p. 215). The entries are as follows:

Urochroa bougueri (White-tailed Hillstar)

U. b. bougueri

SW Colombia, NW Ecuador

U. b. eulcura

SW Colombia

U. b. leucura

E Ecuador

This suggests that the Green-backed Hillstar is polytypic. The unusual name "eulcura" is one of which I have not been able to trace the source, unless that source is The Birds of Colombia by Rodolphe Meyer de Schauensee (1964). As this page denotes, the authority of leucura is Lawrence, 1864.
