I am Ailsa Boyd, an independent researcher in art, design, literature and culture historian with a particular interest in the long nineteenth century. I have been a research assistant in several major research projects at the University of Glasgow, a curator and gallery assistant at The Collins Gallery, University of Strathclyde.
Current research
My PhD research was on the literature and lives of George Eliot, Henry James and Edith Wharton, and the architects they worked with: Owen Jones, Basil Champneys, Edward Prioleau Warren, Ogden Codman, Jr.
Recently my research has been focused on the architecture of nineteenth-century Glasgow, particularly the little-known architect Robert Duncan.
