I am Ailsa Boyd, an independent researcher in art, design, literature and culture historian with a particular interest in the long nineteenth century. I have been a research assistant in several major research projects at the University of Glasgow, a curator and gallery assistant at The Collins Gallery, University of Strathclyde.
Current research
[edit]My PhD research was on the literature and lives of George Eliot, Henry James and Edith Wharton, and the architects they worked with: Owen Jones, Basil Champneys, Edward Prioleau Warren, Ogden Codman, Jr.
Recently my research has been focused on the architecture of nineteenth-century Glasgow, particularly the little-known architect Robert Duncan.
