His father, B.R. Kher, played a significant role in shaping Dheeraj's journey in the world of cinema. He gained prominence as a producer with notable films such as Kokki Karuppusamy Kuththagaithaarar,Malayan,Myna and Nedunchaalai with a diverse portfolio, he has showcased his ability to bring compelling stories to the screen.
In addition to his successful career as a producer, Dheeraj Kher has also showcased his talent as an actor. He has appeared in acclaimed films such as Laadam , Malayan, Nedunchaalai and Pathu Thala demonstrating versatility and skill in front of the camera.

Dheeraj Kher embarked on his journey into Tamil film production in 2005, marking a significant milestone in his career. His inaugural production Kokki released under the esteemed Friend Cinemas banner, instantly captivated audiences and garnered critical acclaim. The film's compelling narrative and stellar execution propelled Dheeraj Kher into the spotlight as a producer with a keen eye for quality cinema.
Building upon the success of "Kokki" Subsequent productions like Karuppusamy Kuththagaithaarar, Malayan, Myna and Nedunchalai further solidified his reputation in the industry.
Dheeraj Kher's into acting commenced with the 2008 film "Laadam" where he portrayed an antagonist role, marking the beginning of his acting journey in Tamil cinema. His performance in the movie garnered attention, particularly his song "Makkah"[1] which went viral and achieved record-breaking views on the internet.
