Mark Anthony DiBello (born December 18, 1960[1]), in Glens Falls, New York, is the first born son of Anthony Francis DiBello (1932-2024 [2][3]) and Dorothy Leona Burek (1936-1982 [4][5]), who married on April 11, 1959.[6]
Mark Anthony is a show business personality [7] and a creator, writer, and producer. In addition he is a model, actor, [8] contestant, comedian, dancer, impersonator, host, manger and director. Mark DiBello is sometimes known as "The Minister of Reality TV." As a sports analyst, he is known as a "Master Strategist" [9] and "The Gambler." [10] DiBello played multiple sports in high school and college. He is also a minister and preacher.
DiBello began in show business at age 8, modeling in print advertisements. In sports, he won his first of repeat “Punt, Pass and Kick" competitions, where he also placed and showed.
In his teens, Mark was a New York All-State (7th team) football player and 4-sport athlete (football, basketball, baseball, track and field) at Columbia Senior High School. He played football and baseball at Hudson Valley Community College before focusing on football with the NCAA National Champion University of Miami Hurricanes. [11] [12] He played semi-pro football with the Albany Metro-Mallers before suffering a hamstring injury, in a quarterback tryout, for the Arena Football League's Anaheim Piranhas.
In his 20's, Mark played recreational basketball in the East Greenbush Men’s Summer League which he organized and ran. In entertainment, he did runway, casual modeling and print work. He also appeared in commercials for Quaker, Nike, Seagram, Molson and others. A self-represented Mark also hustled himself gigs as a product spokesperson; hosted a wide-range of special events; and a cable-access game show called "The Restaurant Game Show."
Also, in the 1980's, after graduation from Miami, with a Bachelor of Arts and Science Degree in Communications and Drama; Mark regularly appeared as an extra and "special extra" on "Miami Vice."[13] Mark worked in all aspects of DiBello Publishing Company, Incorporated (founded by his father), which included the publicly traded Hospital Newspapers Group, Incorporated. [14]
In entertainment, Mark emceed Spring Break events in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Simultaneously, he appeared in “Sexiest Man” and “Best Body” contests. Behind the scenes, Mark did production assistant and public relations work on "Miami Vice" and Florida-based films like: "The Revenge of the Nerds II."
In the 1990's, Mark Anthony performed at Florida stand-up comedy venues. Also, he performed in a host of videos and live at bars, clubs, auditoriums and bachelorette parties as a type of “Chippendales” dancer. As an offshoot of the staged shows, he created an impersonation and look-a-like show of Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler (complete with wardrobe, choreography and lip-synching).
In the late '90's, Mark scored victories on "Wheel of Fortune"[15][16] and "The Price is Right" [17] winning cars on both and to date is known to be the only person in television history to win cars on these two most popular United States game shows. In conjunction, he has produced and hosted televised and theatrical segments called TV Trips [18] [19] featured on NBC, [20][21] ABC, [22] CBS, and "National Enquirer TV" [23] and "EXTRA." [24] This "ministry" has netted financial and promotional help for nationwide and worldwide churches and charities.[25]
In 2000, as the millennium began, and the introduction of “reality” shows; Mark Anthony had featured appearances on the talk shows "Geraldo," [26] "The Bertice Berry Show," [27] "The Gordon Elliott Show," and later appearances on "Moral Court," [28] "Blind Date," [29] "Blind Date All-Stars," [30] "Style Court," [31][31] "Judge David Young," "1 vs. 100," [32] "The Big Match," [33] "The Tyra Banks Show," [34] [35] "Wipeout," [36] "Reality-Obsessed," "La La Land," [37][38] "Divorce Court-Before the Vows," [39] [40] and the stage show "The Price is Right Live" [41] in Atlantic City and Las Vegas. It also presented him opportunities to cast and co-produce segments of the telecasts.
Back in sports, years before “Moneyball”; Mark Anthony DiBello created his "NFL-ESP" (Extended Strategic Principles)”[42] program as a Master Strategist for the National Football League, and major sports; and in 2009 and 2010, was credited with offering analytical "spread" data to the 2-time Canadian Football League Grey Cup Champion Montreal Alouettes and head coach Marc Trestman.[43][44]
In the following decade, 2010, in television, DiBello appeared as “The Minister of Reality TV”[45] on "Face the Truth" [46] and thereafter on multiple tapings of "Dr. Phil," [47][48] and a second appearance on "Divorce Court." [49] [50]
In addition, in analytics, during the 2013 and 2014 seasons, DiBello and his ESP program complemented Trestman, now the head coach of the NFL Chicago Bears. [51][52] After the coach's firing, the analytics department including Chris Ballard and Mitch Tanney [53] took the principles learned in Chicago to help the NFL Denver Broncos appear in Super Bowl 50, which the Broncos won in 2016. In 2017, DiBello's concepts helped the CFL Grey Cup Champion Toronto Argonauts after the Argos hired Trestman to be their coach.
This decade, 2020, DiBello continued making a multitude of appearances on news outlets following his earlier prophesy and longshot prediction of the presidential (#45) victory of President Donald J. Trump.[54]
