Mia Sophie Ross (born 28 April 2003) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Women's Championship club Chalrton Athletic and has represented England from under-17 youth level.
Club career
[edit]In the summer of 2021, Ross signed with Women's Championship club Chalton Athletic from Liverpool.[3] On 23 June 2022, after her debut season with the club scoring four goals in 23 appearances, Ross signed a one-year extension to her contract for the 2022 23 season.[3] On 8 July 2023, ahead of the 2023 24 season, she again extended her contract with Charlton by one-year.[4]
In December 2023, as an integral part of Charlton's squad, Impetus Football listed Ross as one the Championship's best players under-22, as part of a short-list of eight players.[5]
On 26 April 2024, Ross was charged by the Football Association (FA) for violent misconduct for her behaviour in the 87th minutes of the game against Sunderland. She submitted an appeal that the three-match ban was excessive, which was rejected by the regulatory commission.[6]
On 15 July 2024, having made over 50 appearances for the club, Ross signed a new one-year contract with Charlton for the 2024–25 season.[7] On 1 September, Charlton confirmed that she had ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in a Professional Game Academy match against Arsenal Academy.[8][9]
