From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Richie Evans (formerly known as Juice) is an American rapper from Phoenix, Arizona. Though most known for "Can't Knock The Hustle,[1]" featuring Rick Ross, Evans is determined to put Phoenix on the map through his original lyrics and unwavering hustle. Evans was mentored early on by hip-hop legend The Game, though he has taken his career to the next level under his own recording company, The Evans Administration (TEA).[2] Since then, he has won numerous awards and accolades, including Arizona Artist of the Year, Best New Artist, Song of the Year, and Video of the Year in 2023 by the Arizona Music Awards.[3]

Early Life

[edit]

Richie Evans was born in York, Pennsylvania, in 1985. His father was in the military, and they often moved every few years. However, Evans knew Arizona was where he should put down his roots; it was where he called home the longest. Evans attended Eastern Arizona University, where his dedication to the music industry became his calling.

Career

[edit]

Richie Evans was introduced to the industry through his mentor, The Game. During his mentorship, Evans collaborated with artists such as Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar. As he pivoted professionally toward Richie Evans, he created The Evans Administration (TEA),[2] a music label that helps produce artists' music. Since moving to his label, he has won Arizona Artist of the Year (2023), Song of the Year (2023), Video of the Year (2023), and Best New Artist (2023). He has garnered relationships with artists such as Rick Ross, Vedo, Eric Bellinger, and Jay Rock.

Following the COVID-19 Pandemic, Evans spent more time in the studio and released songs such as "For You,"[4] featuring Vedo.

His most popular track, "Can't Knock The Hustle,"[1] featuring Rick Ross, went to the Billboard Hip Hot Charts at #48 and has over 1 million streams and counting. When asked how he got to collaborate with Rick Ross, he said they met in Los Angeles while Evans was working on his album Highly Favored.[5]

"For someone like Ross to respect my flow and be willing to jump on the record, it shows that he has respect and appreciation for the music I'm making," Evans said. "Ross is one of the top artists out there making high-quality music."

Evans is currently working on his new album, Highly Favored 2, which will be released on January 10, 2025.
