Soumen Mukherjee is an Indian historian and Assistant Professor at Presidency University, Kolkata. Mukherjee's research interests include religious and intellectual history of modern South Asia. A fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland, Mukherjee is the recipient of Karim & Rosemin Karim Prize for his book Ismailism and Islam in Modern South Asia: Community and Identity in the Age of Religious Internationals published by Cambridge University Press.[1] In 2023, Mukherjee became the first Indian to receive Annemarie Schimmel Fellowship awarded every three years by the institute of Ismaili Studies.[2] [3]
