Vibha Tandon
Prof. Vibha Tandon is an Indian scientist and academician known for her contributions to the field of chemistry and molecular medicine. She currently serves as the Director of CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Biology and has previously held the position of Chair Professor at the Special Centre for Molecular Medicine, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in New Delhi, India.
Education
[edit]Vibha Tandon completed her Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, Zoology, and Botany from T.D. College, Gorakhpur University in 1984, where she achieved first-class honors in both previous and final examinations. She then pursued a Master of Science degree in Organic Chemistry from the same institution in 1986, again securing first-class honors. In 1991, she earned her Doctor of Philosophy degree from the Department of Chemistry at the University of Allahabad, India. Her doctoral thesis focused on the synthesis of sequential oligonucleotides using special protecting groups under the supervision of Prof. Krishna Misra.

- January 1998 – 2009: Research Scientist (Lecturer), University of Delhi, Delhi
- January–December 1997: Production Incharge, M/S KCK Latex Limited, Delhi
- April 1996 – December 1996: Senior Chemist, M/S KCK Latex Limited, Kanpur & Delhi
- January 1993 – March 1996: Post Doctoral Fellow, Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur
In 2023 she was named the director of the CSIR Indian Institute of Chemical Biology.[1]
