Farzaneh Sadegh Malvajerd (Persian: فرزانه صادق مالواجرد; born September 12, 1976) is an Iranian architect, urban planner and executive director who has been working as the Minister of Roads and Urban Development since 2024.
Farzaneh Sadegh previously worked as the secretary of the Supreme Council of Urban Planning and Architecture of Iran and the deputy of architecture and urban development of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development in this ministry.[1][2][3] She is the second female minister after the Iranian Revolution and the first female minister of roads and urban development in Iran.[4][5]
Following the events in Syria in December 2024, where Tahrir al-Sham swiftly overrun the Assad regime, Sadegh declared that Iran will suspend its flights from Baghdad to Beirut, untill the situation in Syria is settled.[6]
