Karolin [kaˈrɔlin], is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Giby, within Sejny County, Podlaskie Voivodeship, in north-eastern Poland, close to the borders with Belarus and Lithuania.[4] It lies approximately 6 kilometres (4 mi) west of Giby, 10 km (6 mi) south-west of Sejny, and 104 km (65 mi) north of the regional capital Białystok.

The village was known as Pokrovsk. [5] From 1975-1998 the village was administratively governed by the Suwałki Voivodeship.

Tourist attractions

In the village there is the former Orthodox Church of the Protection of the Mother of God (Unitarian) and now the Roman Catholic parish church of the Holy Family, built with brick, with valuable interior decoration[6]. Entered in the register of historical monuments (Reg. No.: 654 of 10.03.1988)[7]
