MediaWiki talk:Image sample
Appearance
Why was the default image changed from JPG to PNG? The fact that Image:Example.jpg used to be the image that resulted from clicking the "embedded image" or "insert a picture gallery" in the toolbar enabled us to find dozens of test and vandalism edits that RC patrollers missed daily by looking at the "file links" section at Image:Example.jpg. This possibility is lost if the image is replaced with Image:Example.png as the default toolbar image as Example.png is used on so many pages legitimately (the JPG version is not supposed to appear on any page, actually). --KFP (talk | contribs) 09:50, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
- I've reverted now. Please see the comments at Wikipedia:Images_and_media_for_deletion/2007_August_5#Image:Example.jpg. --KFP (talk | contribs) 11:00, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
