- 14:4014:40, 26 November 2018 diff hist +1 Walashma dynasty I will also have to get the admins involved if anyone insists on listing them definitively as Somali or anything else because, again, you can't prove this through the literature, archaeology or anything else. Read this page's sources...
- 14:3914:39, 26 November 2018 diff hist −15 Walashma dynasty Listen, I am Somali myself and I will tell you straight right now that there is no definitive evidence about their origins. They had Arab genealogies like everyone else in the Horn and either surfaced around Zeila or inland in the "Ifat" area, and then they ruled mostly Somalis and Muslim Southern-Ethiosemites. That's it, that's all we truly know in the literature. Please do not trigger ethnic wars which is what this page was plagued with for years earlier and just leave it neutral

- 22:4322:43, 28 July 2018 diff hist −68 Barbaria (region) Undid revision 851987188 by 84.81.77.172 (talk) Unless this random anon who undid my edit can find ONE academic source that claims the classical inhabitants of Southeast Egypt and Northeast Sudan were ancestral Somalis and not ancestral Bejas, do not undo my edit or I will get admins involved Tag: Undo

- 11:2811:28, 3 July 2018 diff hist −68 Barbaria (region) These people weren't just the ancestors of Somalis. There were two "Barbara" regions... One was from Southeast Egypt down to Northern-edge of what is now Eritrea and the people there would've been ancestors of Bejas. It is the other, more southern, "Barbara" from the Bab al-Mandeb to what is now Northeast Somalia that would've housed ancestors of Somalis... So please keep it saying "Afro-Asiatic speaking people".
- 11:2211:22, 3 July 2018 diff hist +79 Adal Sultanate Just realized it originally said "inhabitants of Zeila" which seems to correlate with the sources. This was made to say "Harar" by a now indefinitely banned user for sock-puppeting so I reverted it.
- 11:1411:14, 3 July 2018 diff hist −79 Adal Sultanate None of the sources claim or would sensibly claim that the Adal Sultanate was established entirely by the inhabitants of Harar so I removed that part. This was a multi-ethnic entity made up of Afars, Somalis, Southern-Ethiosemites (ancestors of Hararis and Argobbas) and some few Arabs...

And no, nothing I did earlier was "vandalism". In fact, Bayesedam misleading readers about what the Africanus source said (claiming it said they spoke Somali) is more vandal-like than anything else. - 09:1309:13, 10 April 2018 diff hist −406 Walashma dynasty Please read the source shared in the language section (which I deleted), Leo Africanus does not say that they are Somalis but "Moors" ruling over a land of dark-complected fellow Moors. This is dubious, they could have been anything from Somalis to Southern-Ethiosemitic speakers or a mix of both; we do not know and probably never actually will. Lets not ruin this article with ethnic agendas (this coming from a Somali myself).
- 09:0309:03, 10 April 2018 diff hist −25 Walashma dynasty If you read the literature on this family, it's not actually well-established what their ethnic origins were. We simply know that they had Arabian genealogies like everyone else in the region and ruled over Somalis and Southern-Ethiosemitic speaking people. There is no consensus or at least clear evidence regarding their origins otherwise...
