- 04:2704:27, 23 June 2024 diff hist +670 Stereotypes of African Americans Removed biased and dehumanizing language: Added people after African American, "Blacks", whites, to avoid reducing the humanity of people to their racial identity. Capitalized Black for racial identities. Uncapitalized white for racial identities since several white supremacist hate groups capitalized it to imply racial superiority. Removed female and male when referring to gender to avoid invalidating trans and/or gender-diverse people and avoid sexism. Added gender-inclusive language. - 09:3609:36, 6 June 2024 diff hist +38 m Wikipedia:Gender-neutral language in Wikipedia policies Changed the problematic terms female and male to man and woman. Female and male are terms used to assign someone's gender mainly based on their genitalia. So, using female and male when referring to gender invalidates and erases transgender and gender-diverse (TGD) people and intersex people who may be TGD. Plus, female is often used in a sexist way towards women and those perceived as women that devalues them. Added note to avoid reinforcing assumptions on gender based on pronouns.
- 09:1109:11, 6 June 2024 diff hist 0 m Transracial (identity) Black is a racial identity with a lot of historical and current meaning to the majority of Black people and it represents the unity, persistence through unique challenges and persecution, and the achievements from all across the globe. We already capitalize terms like Asian, Hispanic, African American, and Native American. Capitalizing “Black” aligns with this practice. Tag: Visual edit

It represents the diversity of communities of people who are often systematically, institutionally, and socially marginalized and persecuted because of who they are across the globe. This is also in line with the guidelines provided by the American Psychological Association (APA) and other style guides. Tag: Visual edit

- 00:1700:17, 26 May 2024 diff hist −2 m Homonormativity Changed "cisgendered" to cisgender to be more accurate and inclusive. Gender(s) or lack thereof don't happen to someone; they are an inherent fundamental aspect of a person's identity that they are born with. Cisgendered suggests something happened someone to be cisgender. You wouldn't call someone a Blacked person; you'd use Black person. Tag: Visual edit
