Operation Safe Haven was a resuce operation in July 1944 ordered by President Franklin D. Roosevelt and carried out by his emmissaries Ruth Gruber and Captain Lewis J. Korn to take 1000 of Europe's most needy holocaust survivors to America on the USAT ship Henry Gibbins. Project Safehaven was an OSS covert operation to search out , locate and secure gold and assets stolen by the Nazis during World War II
