  • 00:2700:27, 22 August 2024 diff hist +2 2015 IndyCar Series There was no tiebreaker since there is no such thing in motorsport, it was count-back instead, because we were counting back best results, then 2nd best results etc. You can see tie-break in tennis, for instance, when players play 13th game to break a tie at 6-6. Other count back example has been seen in 2007 F1 season between Hamilton (runner-up) and Alonso (2nd runner-up), because they were tied at points (109 each), wins (4 apiecie), but the British had scored more 2nd places (5 to 4). • 01:4501:45, 16 August 2024 diff hist 0 United States at the 2024 Summer Olympics Word "count-back" instead of "tiebreaker". The latter is used when extra play is introduced to determine the right order (hence to "break tie") , while the former when there is no possibility of another trial (like in what could have been 330th event during Olympics), so instead we look at the number of best, then second best, etc., results (thus, to "count back"; just like in 2007 F1 championship: Hamilton was runner-up with 4 second places, while Alonso had only 3, both had 109 pts and 4 wins
