Invitation to join New pages patrol

[edit]

Hello Alextigers!

  • The New Pages Patrol is currently struggling to keep up with the influx of new articles needing review. We could use a few extra hands to help.
  • We think that someone with your activity and experience is very likely to meet the guidelines for granting.
  • Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time, but it requires a strong understanding of Wikipedia’s CSD policy and notability guidelines.
  • Kindly read the tutorial before making your decision, and feel free to post on the project talk page with questions.
  • If patrolling new pages is something you'd be willing to help out with, please consider applying here.

Thank you for your consideration. We hope to see you around!

Launceston Casino City

[edit]

hey man. I was looking at some of the Tassie championship photos and Drmic was holding the championship trophy. For 1981 it said "Launceston Casino City Tigers". Do you find that weird? Statman84 (talk) 03:30, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I do find it weird. I think Tigers were their nickname but still can’t find any old articles if they were called Tigers or not. I’ll put Tigers as their nickname in their Infobox. Alextigers (talk) 03:42, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Majok Majok nationality

[edit]

Hey. Majok Majok's nationality should be listed as AUS. He has never played at FIBA level [1] and as far as I can tell he has never been selected in a SSD squad. The closest he has got to FIBA level is a 2017 Boomers camp squad selection [2]. FIBA actually list him as "AUS/SSD", so AUS first. DaHuzyBru (talk) 02:09, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Do you know if Majok was born in South Sudan? That was the only reason counting him as  South Sudan. I only remember Majok playing for the All-Select Aussie team against  China but that wasn't was an official Australia national team selection. Will keep him as  Australia. Discussion at WT:Basketball

[edit]

Hey. I have started a discussion at WT:Basketball regarding the shortening of long team names in infoboxes. See here. Please comment there. Thanks. DaHuzyBru (talk) 09:49, 24 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I will comment.
I do think Phoenix/Magic name could be shorten so they can fit their pages. For Phoenix's team pages I had to shorten their season pages. It’s much easier typing their shorten name since it’s very repetitive in infoboxes/boxsore purposes. Both logos use S.E. Melbourne. It must be optional. Happy we leave south east when introducing the players. Only infobox/team pages shorten. Alextigers (talk) 11:21, 24 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
