Help with creating a factual page about a Record Label.

[edit]

My page has been deleted before and I need to know what to do differently in order to have a page with a secure spot on wikipedia. Can you please get back to me with some ideas for me to not have my next attempt at creating a page deleted. Thank you. My page is going to be about Bullet Tooth Records based out of Tinton Falls, New Jersey.

How to rectify "Accidental diplomacy" page so it won't be deleted

[edit]

Hi there, I was just wondering why you believe my page was a test page? I believe I'd entered the all the required fields/references - what can I do to rectify it? Thank you. -Windthatbendsthecypress (talk) 20:51, 10 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. If I'm not mistaken the article didn't have any information on it, just a template. Naturslly, it was deleted. Surfer43_¿qué_pasa? 20:56, 10 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

RFAR:Manning naming dispute - Formally added as party

[edit]

The drafting arbitrators have requested that you be formally added as a party to the Manning naming dispute case. Evidence that you wish the arbitrators to consider should be added to the evidence subpage, at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Manning naming dispute/Evidence. You can also contribute to the case workshop subpage, Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Manning naming dispute/Workshop. For a guide to the arbitration process, see Wikipedia:Arbitration/Guide to arbitration.

For the Arbitration Committee,

Greetings. Because you participated in the August 2013 move request regarding this subject, you may be interested in participating in the current discussion. This notice is provided pursuant to Wikipedia:Canvassing#Appropriate notification. Cheers! bd2412 T 21:40, 4 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This arbitration case has been closed and the final decision is available at the link above. The following remedies have been enacted:

  1. Hitmonchan (talk · contribs) is indefinitely topic-banned from all pages relating to any transgender topic or individual, broadly construed.
  2. IFreedom1212 (talk · contribs) is indefinitely topic-banned from all pages relating to any transgender topic or individual, broadly construed.
  3. Tarc (talk · contribs) is indefinitely topic-banned from all pages relating to any transgender topic or individual, broadly construed.
  4. Josh Gorand (talk · contribs) is indefinitely topic-banned from all pages relating to any transgender topic or individual, broadly construed.
  5. Baseball Bugs (talk · contribs) is indefinitely topic-banned from all pages relating to any transgender topic or individual, broadly construed. He is also topic banned from all pages (including biographies) related to leaks of classified information, broadly construed.
  6. David Gerard (talk · contribs) is admonished for acting in a manner incompatible with the community's expectations of administrators (see #David Gerard's use of tools).
  7. David Gerard (talk · contribs) is indefinitely prohibited from using his administrator permissions (i) on pages relating to transgender people or issues and (ii) in situations involving such pages. This restriction may be first appealed after six months have elapsed, and every six months thereafter.
  8. The standard discretionary sanctions adopted in Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Sexology for (among other things) "all articles dealing with transgender issues" remain in force. For the avoidance of doubt, these discretionary sanctions apply to any dispute regarding the proper article title, pronoun usage, or other manner of referring to any individual known to be or self-identifying as transgender, including but not limited to Chelsea/Bradley Manning. Any sanctions imposed should be logged at the Sexology case, not this one.
  9. All editors, especially those whose behavior was subject to a finding in this case, are reminded to maintain decorum and civility when engaged in discussions on Wikipedia, and to avoid commentary that demeans any other person, intentionally or not.

I believe my contribution was very constructive, explain how it wasn't? It's important to highlight the fact that the song is not only featured as the music for one of the games' many trailers but that it's also featured on an in-game radio station.

You can re-add it with a source or if it is mentioned in a source on the page. Surfer43_¿qué_pasa? 02:06, 26 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

@evleaks was submitted and is continued to be edited by Cclewandowski who is an intern at @evleaks (as admitted here: https://twitter.com/CCLewandowski). This is clearly a conflict of interest. I noticed you submitted this article for deletion but wasn't sure if you were aware of this fact... not sure who to take it to. Binarypower (talk) 01:44, 27 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the suggestions. i've made some changes, but can find no more about the founder of the company.

Context

[edit]

You nominated The Last Invisible Boy for speedy deletion A1, no context. But it had a "Book" infobox and included an ISBN. Please take more care before biting a new, probably young, editor with such a nomination for an inadequate little stub which had quite a bit of information and plenty of context, just not arranged very well. It's quite likely not notable, but that's not a CSD criterion. PamD 09:11, 17 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You really need to stop giving removal warnings as I have already EXPLAINED my removals!!! Finnair will not have a 787 aircraft in its fleet. List of RAM drive software

[edit]

Regarding List_of_RAM_drive_software in the section named 'VSuite Ramdisk' which I renamed to 'Primo Ramdisk (VSuite Ramdisk II)'...

I didn't realize that Wikipedia no longer liked external links, especially for a page that is a list of products. I've removed the external link.

Regarding the content, I'm not sure what you don't like about it. The previous content had several mistakes which I corrected. I left the previous authors' valid statements, but simply rewrote the rest to be accurate.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. Hey there.

First of all thank you very much. I did see the link didn't work, If I'm not mistaken a picture must first be uploaded onto Wikipedia for me to attach it to a curtain page, As I have only been an official member for a few hours that wasn't possibly. Lucky we have good people like you to clean up the mess.

Oh and the cookies look wonderful.. I would return the favor but uploading pics in not my forte.

I have done the research, and everything I have posted in the changes I had made to the subject are factual, and verified. At what point is this information opinionated, when I clearly state the sources and factual links? Hello thanks for your introduction I need some help.

[edit]

The reason I created the "Full list of cryptocurrencies" was because when I tried to readd the full list to the "list of cryptocurrencies" there seems to be discrepancies on what that list should be. Some say the list is only the major cryptocurrencies, other say it should be all of them, while even more say only the notable ones. I believe they are all notable. But the title doesnt say "list of notable cryptocurrencies" it says list of cryptocurrencies. But its only a list of a few peoples favorites. So what am i supposed to do?

Question about recent edits

[edit]

Hi Sufer43,

I noticed that you made edits to the page for "Eric Hennig". I've recently made some edits to the page as well :) I'm fairy new to this but another user nominated the page for deletion and I don't agree with it. I believe I wrote my comments why I disagree is the correct spot on the nomination for deletion page but I'm not sure. Since you helped edit the page I was wondering if you could also please note that you don't agree with the deletion? Thank you very much and any information you can give me would be greatly appreciated! Hello. I am neutral in the deletion because I think it is borderline so I don't see a point in commenting on the deletion page. If the article is notable under Wikipedia policy, it will most likely be kept. If it is deleted now, the article may be created later once more reliable sources establish his notability. Happy holidays and thanks for contributing to Wikipedia! --Surfer43_¿qué pasa? 20:47, 28 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

American Concrete Pavement Association

[edit]

Hello, Good to see that you tagged it under G12. I was also reading that page and my first reaction was it must be copvio, I searched on net but couldn't find the exact link from where it is copied. Secondly it doesn't follow NPOV, as it say's that The American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA) is the world’s largest trade association. Plus no any independent source found and no claim of notability. A.Minkowiski _Lets t@lk 17:25, 3 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Reverting of contributions to Visaal album

[edit]

Hi, This is rather late but I just saw your msg in which you had reverted (in June 2013) the contributions made by me to the tracklist of Visaal - Ghazals for Connoisseurs. As of now what is given in the track title column is only the name of the poet that composed the verse used in the song. I had provided the actual track title with the full name of the poet as provided in the actual album CD, which I own.

[edit]

Hello Surfer43. This message is part of a mass mailing to people who appear active in reviewing articles for creation submissions. First of all, thank you for taking part in this important work! I'm sorry this message is a form letter – it really was the only way I could think of to covey the issue economically. Of course, this also means that I have not looked to see whether the matter is applicable to you in particular.

The issue is in rather large numbers of copyright violations ("copyvios") making their way through AfC reviews without being detected (even when easy to check, and even when hallmarks of copyvios in the text that should have invited a check, were glaring). A second issue is the correct method of dealing with them when discovered.

If you don't do so already, I'd like to ask for your to help with this problem by taking on the practice of performing a copyvio check as the first step in any AfC review. The most basic method is to simply copy a unique but small portion of text from the draft body and run it through a search engine in quotation marks. Trying this from two different paragraphs is recommended. (If you have any question about whether the text was copied from the draft, rather than the other way around (a "backwards copyvio"), the Wayback Machine is very useful for sussing that out.)

If you do find a copyright violation, please do not decline the draft on that basis. Copyright violations need to be dealt with immediately as they may harm those whose content is being used and expose Wikipedia to potential legal liability. If the draft is substantially a copyvio, and there's no non-infringing version to revert to, please mark the page for speedy deletion right away using {{db-g12|url=URL of source}}. If there is an assertion of permission, please replace the draft article's content with {{subst:copyvio|url=URL of source}}.

Some of the more obvious indicia of a copyvio are use of the first person ("we/our/us..."), phrases like "this site", or apparent artifacts of content written for somewhere else ("top", "go to top", "next page", "click here", use of smartquotes, etc.); inappropriate tone of voice, such as an overly informal tone or a very slanted marketing voice with weasel words; including intellectual property symbols (™,®); and blocks of text being added all at once in a finished form with no misspellings or other errors.

I hope this message finds you well and thanks again you for your efforts in this area. Best regards--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 02:20, 18 November 2014 (UTC).[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. Possible removal of AWB access due to inactivity

[edit]

Hello! There is currently a request for approval of a bot to manage the AutoWikiBrowser CheckPage by removing inactive users, among other tasks. You are being contacted because you may qualify as an inactive user of AWB. First, if you have any input on the proposed bot task, please feel free to comment at the BRFA. Should the bot task be approved, your access to AWB may be uncontroversially removed if you do not resume editing within a week's time. This is purely for routine maintenance of the CheckPage, and is not indicative of wrongdoing on your part. You will be able regain access at any time by simply requesting it at WP:PERM/AWB.
