Mbzmechanic just so that you know I'm the one that deleted, trimmed, or otherwise edited some of your contributions. You should know that wasn't out of any desire to suppress knowledge or make light of your article. However a lot of the info you posted was either written in an informal tone or was more along the lines of personal opinion or observation. Not that any of that isn't useful but it doesn't belong in a wikipedia article unless you have a verifiable source to back it up. I understand it was your first article so I might suggest that you take a look at some of the guidelines for creating a wikipedia article; for instance, you didn't cite a single source in the whole page and you used images that I can tell were lifted straight from Google image search. Now I also want you to know that I'm not a huge wikipedia contributor. I use it mostly as a reference tool, but I'll edit a page a bit if I notice something blatantly wrong. I haven't created a page myself at all and I'm also pretty hazy on the exact rules for page creation (that's why I haven't made one). In this case I removed a lot of info that, like I said, seemed to be more based on your personal experience with the car rather than actual verifiable facts, as well as cleaning up some sloppy writing. In case you're worried that I mindlessly deleted valuable info, just keep in mind that I personally own a 500E and truly appreciate this unique automobile. I have done my fair share of work on it and have done a bit of research so I know the car well. I personally appreciate that someone took the time to create a dedicated page for the 500E when it was just a blurb under W124 before. But in order to create a respectable wikipedia article, you have to follow the guidelines. You can find everything here: Help. Hopefully you'll see this message.TheJoshdude 20:25, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

yea but everything he put there was true, use a search engine. and yes i'd bet he took all those images from google, but at least the different angled shots are from a magazine, so i hope those don't end up deleted as well. im not 1 of the lucky 500E owners, but i have an e-class mercedes (which is nothing like the 500E, i think the 500E is actually an s-class perhaps, judging also by the interior of the vehicle, it is much nicer than many s-class)

point being, maybe you should of spent your effort on finding references instead of deleting? because now we lost another wikipedian to read from. no disrespect indended, but i also highly disbelief that you own a 500E, because they are very expensive and for some one with money, or such luck, i highly doubt that you would take the time out to do things like Wiki's and such, no offense (i dont know you). the very worst condition 500Es (which are well over a decade old), wrecked and rebuilt, with 400+ thousand km (200+ thousand miles), are like 15 k euros (20 k USD) !!

personally all of this 500e enthusiasm is a bit unnecessary in my opinion, because although i am a mercedes-benz fan, these cars are so rare and hard to find, and unheard of, are they even worth mentioning? wikipedia is about history, but if you are going to mention it, you should mention it 100 percent and focus your direction towards references and not deletion, in my opinion! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.114.81.161 (talk) 07:12, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
