Discussion

[edit]

I added a short paragraph about koaia in here. However, it might be better to make this a separate page. KarlM 02:07, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Move proposal

[edit]

This wood is commonly called simply koa in English. I propose moving it to Koa. KOA can be moved to KOA (disambiguation) to avoid any confusion. Badagnani 00:42, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No. It is established naming convention for plants to use the scientific name. Hesperian 05:15, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Uses

Some of this section is very badly written and poorly punctuated. guest 16:57, 3 Feb 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.43.141.187 (talk)

contradictory information

[edit]

the main article states or implies that koa is abundant in Hawai'i, and then you get to the conservation section and learn that actually, it's basically been killed off. Which is it? you can't have it both ways. having read this article, I'm inclined to think there's some citations needed, editorializing, that sort of thing going on in the main article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:1C1:C201:8D00:D59D:33D8:B4FF:D476 (talk) 02:29, 16 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Conservation status?

[edit]

It would be nice to mention the plant's specific conservation status, especially given that there's already an appropriate discussion of threats to both its existing population and its recovery. Antediluvian67 (talk) 13:43, 8 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
