Hoxha and Maoism
[edit]Hoxha and Maoism NatriumGedrogt (talk) 19:07, 5 June 2023 (UTC)
- Hoxha was never a Maoist. In his theoretical work, he does not cite Mao. One of his complaints is that China was not open to exchange of ideas, unlike the eastern bloc before Khrushchev. Considering how much he complains about not knowing what Mao is thinking or doing and considering his criticism, when he latter got access to Mao’s writings and statements, flow from his interpretation of dialectics, which is consistent over his whole career, and considering that his criticism of Chinese economy and politics extends to the Mao era and is consistent with his other ideas, I think we can say: Hoxha was certainly never a Maoist. Not anymore than Roosevelt was a Marxist just because he was allied to the USSR. NatriumGedrogt (talk) 19:25, 5 June 2023 (UTC)
- @NatriumGedrogt: What would you suggest we replace it with? I was thinking perhaps "an anti-revisionist form of Marxism–Leninism"? -- Grnrchst (talk) 13:09, 9 August 2023 (UTC)
- Yes. That’s better. NatriumGedrogt (talk) 16:15, 9 August 2023 (UTC)
