[edit]Asaichi is a Japanese word meaning 'Morning Market'.
It is also used in manufacturing circles worldwide, particularly in Kaizen environments, as the name of a short daily morning meeting where problems from the previous days production (faulty parts etc.) are brought and showed and discussed by those present - typically factory section leaders, engineers, quality manager - who seek to discover the route cause of th problems to prevent them recurring. The descriptions of these meetings are to be found in books on the Toyota Manufacturing System, particularly by Masaaki Imai and Taiichi Ohno
I propose that:
- there should be a page dedicated to this used of the word Asaichi, referencing Imai & Ohno & others;
- the current page (which refers solely to a TV show) be modified to include the original meaning of the word.
I do not have the books for reference to hand, nor the time to do this at the moment, but I will come back to it (probably!) - meanwhile, if anybody else fancies having a go, get stuck in!
