Stickler for Rules, or Just Harassment?

[edit]

I keep adding useful information to this page and one particular individual who seems to have something personal against me -- or worse yet, seems to think that this page is his personal property -- keeps reverting it.

The last information included links which demonstrate that the "commercial heart" of Aspen Hill, Maryland, has addresses in Rockville, Silver Spring, and Wheaton Maryland. The person who reverted this sent a form letter to my talk page to the effect of "no links to aspenhillnet.net nor to crimereports.com are allowed.

The person doing the reversions does not live in Aspen Hill; I do. That person seems to have about as much familiarity with the area as did the 'bot that composed the page. I have long-standing involvement in the community and have been active in efforts to reduce crime and promote positive activities for after-school and out-of-school youth. The person doing the revisions seems to be determined to prevent anyone other than himself contributing to Aspen Hill's wikipedia entry. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Thardman22 (talkcontribs)

Stickler for rules. See WP:EL and WP:SPAM. SchuminWeb (Talk) 01:30, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oy gevalt. According to the WP:EL there is a remark about refraining from linking to sites in which you're involved even if otherwise they probably should be linked to more or less. Okay, I can live with that. Why don't you go to Aspen Hill Net and check out the history article, for example. It's not "just a list of phone numbers". There's probably something you will find there that needs linking to. For example, the section on significant crimes in Aspen Hill. Thardman22 (talk) 00:19, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AspenHillCivicAssociation.org

[edit]

Is this organization notable? Why are their boundaries considered notable? If the boundaries are going to be noted I think that the fact that do not line up with reality should be noted.173.79.2.111 (talk) 12:56, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think that it's particularly notable at this point. SchuminWeb (Talk) 14:08, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Aspen Hill Civic Association, Inc., is Montgomery County's designated interface between local government and the neighborhood. At one point in time, it was an "umbrella civic association" which covered a number of smaller neighborhood civic associations. Those organizations have disappeared since then.
There is also the Strathmore Civic Association, which covers on very large subdivision to the east of Georgia Avenue (MD-97). Both civic associations comprise only single-family detached residential units (houses) and a small number of condominiums. The rest is apartments and other condominium developments which don't have civic associations but which are all considered to be part of Aspen Hill proper.
