Talk:Attention span/Short Attention Span
I enjoy the band short attention span and because their name and musical content pertains to not only the subject but the subjects deeper meaning, I feel its appropriate to mention them. Especially since they are part of the short attention span generation. If wikipedia and or you the user disagree I understand and will have them removed from the article, as I do not want to hurt the integrity of wikipedia.
- It's good to have an article about short attention span (the condition) and about short attention span (the band). But it's not good to have one article about both. It's a real encyclopedia: one subject, one article. You can write an article about each, but you'd probably run into two problems. For the former (the condition), you'd have to thoroughly make references to reputable sources. The wikipedia science community really doesn't mess around. Also I think an attention span article already exists. For the latter (the band), you'd probably have a difficult establishing notability. There's like a million bands, what makes SAS notable? If you think you can do both, you should definitely give it a shot. You'll find plenty of people willing to help. -Taco325i 22:35, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
This discussion was moved from Talk:Short Attention Span. The corresponding article, Short Attention Span was turned into a redirect to Attention span. Aecis No running, shouting or piddling in the shallow end 03:04, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for the explanation. Is there a different section to write about a latter? Or would I just divide the new article by condition/latter?
- You could start a new article entitled "Short Attention Span (band)". But i'll tell ya now, it'll probably get speedy-deleted for lack of notability. If you want to give it a decent chance of survival, you should include plenty of references, such as newspaper articles and third party reviews. If you need help including references, let me know. -Taco325i 17:26, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
- The safest way to go forward is to write such an article in your userspace first. I see that you were not logged in when you made the previous comment, but I assume you are Bleusboy (talk · contribs). You can write an article about the band at User:Bleusboy/Short Attention Span (band). Be sure to read the manual of style and the music notability guidelines thoroughly before you do. It can save you a lot of time and effort, particularly if the band does not meet the notability guidelines. Aecis No running, shouting or piddling in the shallow end 01:01, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
