Heyo MaranoFan, it's interesting to see that Ms. Olivia is now your new musical muse! Will review this article shortly. I haven't listened to Ms. Olivia's music much, but I enjoy "Deja Vu" which you already brought to FA. Ippantekina (talk) 02:46, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I decided to spread the wealth among newer artists, lol. Definitely fun to write about an album where most tracks were hits; is this how Swifties feel? Thanks for taking this on, and I am impressed you manage to make time to do reviews while keeping up with Swift's high volume of output.--NØ 04:43, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Prose

[edit]
  • "hook up" sounds a little informal
  • Looking at our own article on the topic, it can range from just making out to other sexual activities. I don't think the lyrics are specific about how far she wanted to go with the ex, so what would you suggest as the more formal substitute?
  • "unprecedented commercial success" kinda POV?
  • Removed "unprecedented". Saying it's successful should be safe to do in wikivoice imo given both what the sources cited within the article say and Billboard calling it one of the most dominant number ones of the 30 years preceding it.
  • I think we don't need to mention the fact that "Vampire" was a no. 1 hit
  • Swapped with a bit about this being the second consecutive top 10 single from the album in the Commercial performance section. Thanks for the inspiration :)

File usage

[edit]
  • I don't think the extra 7" cover is necessary per WP:NFCC criteria 3a and 8

More comments

[edit]
  • Still dubious about "hook up". Though I recommend "rekindling with" I'm open to discussion on this.
  • "On the other hand, Lindsay Zoladz..." not really necessary
  • "Bad Idea Right?" heavily features guitars in its instrumentation, which are influenced by riot grrrl" false modifier?
  • "with the verses and chorus almost completely spoken, but it includes a melodic pre-chorus" I'd write "the track includes"
  • "to the work of Avril Lavigne,[52][53] Wet Leg, Soccer Mommy," the works?
  • "featured in the television series Glee and the film Freaky Friday (2003)" do we need the year(s) for Glee also?
  • "a distinction they also gave to "Vampire" upon its release" irrelevant?
  • "Ranking the song as the fifth-best track on Guts, Billboard's Jason Lipshutz believed [...], and Sputnikmusic's Sowing thought [...]" did both of these critics rank the song as the fifth-best?
  • "the piano-driven ballads that famed Rodrigo" "had famed"?
  • Pay extra attention to quotation marks, i.e. "a capital-P Performer,"
  • "The former song" I'd just write it out "Bad Idea Right?" as "the former song" seems trivializing for the subject matter of this article
  • "the Official Charts Company declared it her 11th-biggest song in the country in February 2024" "declared" seems heavy... maybe "reported that it was..."?

  • [2] checkY
  • [22] ? doesn't really support the claim "Early on in the creation process of Guts in 2022"; crosses out for the lyric part
  • This says "Making Guts, we had this super start with 'Get Him Back' and 'Bad Idea, Right?' and 'Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl'", which is what I was interpreting early on in the creation process from, and this (published in 2023) says Rodrigo was "making this song with @dan_nigro in NYC last year".
  • [28] checkY
  • [31] checkY
  • [32] checkY
  • [46] checkY — maybe also quoting the exact lyrics?
  • I switched out "undertones" for "hidden meanings". I would say referring to the phone call as a phone call is fine since paraphrasing there would change the meaning.
  • [77] checkY — do we add new wave as a genre to the Infobox as well? This seems to pass WP:EXPLICITGENRE
  • [98] checkY
  • [117] ? this requires subscription; the archived link is 404

Overall very close to passing. — Ippantekina (talk) 08:16, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Ippantekina. I think everything should be addressed now. If anything got missed then I am happy to revisit. By the way, I did not start the nomination page for one of your GANs now since you seemed busy but let me know if there is any specific review you would like me to do for you. @MaranoFan: Happy to pass this! Great work as always :) Would be great if you could review Soon You'll Get Better which I think should be short and sweet (no, this is not a pun on Sabrina's latest album lol). Ippantekina (talk) 03:38, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
