Merge as paragraph
[edit]Myself, I don't think this deserves a Wikipedia page. It isn't significant enough, and there isn't that much to say. It is also confusing, as the context over time is unclear. Was this at the beginning of Viking power, or the end, etc? How did this battle effect the overall outcome? This would make a nice paragraph in the Viking Conquest of Ireland page. - Viking's didn't conquer Ireland though, it's important battle in context of consolidation of Viking control of Dublin - they had been driven from the city in 902, the Uí Imair (dynasty of Ivarr) had returned in 914, this battle ensure their control of Dublin until the rise of the Dál gCais at end of 10th century and their subjugation to the leading Irish dynasts during the 11th/12th century (period of "High Kings with opposition"). It's also one of few examples of a major pitch battle during the period, others include the Battle of Tara (980), the Battle of Glenmama (999) and of course the most famous been Clontarf in 1014.
