[edit]why does it say a christian town? the town is half muslims half christian and there is at least one mosque. most of the muslims there are locals who converted to islam but retained their Aramaic language thats why maloula along with its muslims neighbours bakhaa and jibdeen still speak aramaic — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.47.190.241 (talk) 01:27, 13 September 2013 (UTC)
- funny that you would claim the town for islam after everyone there evacuates. what benefit would a muslim or islamic group gain from speaking aramaic? is there an aramaic qur'an? why is that more interesting than an aramaic targum? 173.14.238.118 (talk) 02:53, 15 September 2013 (UTC)

[edit]Rebel forces retook the city. Part of the same battle or a different one? Coltsfan (talk) 13:14, 7 December 2013 (UTC)
- Interesting question. Probably we'll have to wait for external sources to determine it is one way or the other. Apdency (talk) 18:37, 8 December 2013 (UTC)
- There was three major battles in this city, and probably there is a fourth to come (the government will counter attack soon). I would say it's unwise to create a article for every battle fought there. Coltsfan (talk) 22:35, 8 December 2013 (UTC)
And the government retook Maloula. It's the fourth time the city change hands in one year. Shouldn't that be in the article? Coltsfan (talk) 17:12, 18 April 2014 (UTC)
