Proposal: Revert Rush back to pre-2024 AFL, specifically the logo
[edit]The Rush were announced for the 2024 Arena Football League but were "delayed" to 2025. Since the "new" AFL has since become defunct, Arena Football One not making any indication that the Rush are joining anytime soon, and that the Rush's social media pages are very sporadic (Twitter/X hasn't been updated since December 2023, Facebook hasn't been updated since July 2024), it's reasonable to assume this team is not happening. Therefore, I propose the logo and team information should be reverted back to how it was before AFL 3.0. Any mentions of the 2024 team should be under a failed/attempted revival blurb. - I'd agree the team is likely defunct (for the time being at least) given they were not included in the AF One website or schedule. I'd also agree there should be a section explaining the team was supposed to come back in 2024, but the league flopped, and there are no current known plans to bring the team into the AF One. I'm not 100% sure if the logo should be reverted. -- StarScream1007 ►Talk 15:12, 29 November 2024 (UTC)
- I favor reversion for the logo, only because the "R" logo was associated with the new team. If it's an un-used logo that never took the field, I think it should go back to the prior Rush logo. Also consider what other AFL team pages have done, such as the New York Dragons. The Dragons changed their logo prior to the cancelled 2009 season, and the Wikipedia entry shows the one used from 2001-2008. The revised green dragon logo is listed as an unused logo in a different section. I'll also argue another reason to revert it is the "legacy teams" that had new logos in 2024 that folded. The Georgia Force and the Philadelphia Soul entries show the original logo and not the 2024 version, but if you scroll down the entries, they show the new logos. I'm not saying abolish the "R" entirely, but I think unless this team takes the field, it should revert back to the prior. Hawkahaulic08 (talk) 19:04, 29 November 2024 (UTC)
- That's a good point about the other AFL teams. We could move The R logo down to the history section and leave a note about it. -- StarScream1007 ►Talk 19:10, 29 November 2024 (UTC)
- I'm in agreement with that. Hawkahaulic08 (talk) 00:12, 2 December 2024 (UTC)
