[edit]

I have images to stick in here for the coins. I'm looking at the legality of bank notes. Low-res versions should be ok, but I haven't tried to scan them. SchmuckyTheCat 04:07, 16 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Huh, guess I don't need to make the effort.User:Kingturtle/World Coin Gallery and [1] There goes a wasted two hours.SchmuckyTheCat 04:24, 16 Jun 2005 (UTC)

So happy that one more friend would join in the major edit (so you know about HK issues, right? I would contact you next time id there's any HK-related edits that need help) :). Few days ago the HKD page was still a slum, you know. :-D . I'd like to refine the layout (ref.:USD), and add some information. Let's co-operate: you help with the photos, and I with the layout and information, OK? :) -- Jerry Crimson Mann 07:13, 16 Jun 2005 (UTC)
I'd go to the Hong Kong Museum of History later, and grab some more useful information. Let's see! :D -- Jerry Crimson Mann 07:15, 16 Jun 2005 (UTC)

1992 or 1993?

[edit]

Are first 2-dollar and 5-dollar coins issued in January 1993? They are marked 1992. — Instantnood 09:56, Jun 16, 2005 (UTC)

I got the information from HKMA's website. -- Jerry Crimson Mann 10:07, 16 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Perhaps the coins were minted in 1992, but were circulated starting from 1993. By the way, there's something interesting to mention with the 1-dollar coin. Those marked 1993 were entirely withdrawn from circulation because of some defect. :-) — Instantnood 10:25, Jun 16, 2005 (UTC)

Coins issued during the handover

[edit]

Jerry I guess you must be watching this page. Do you remember some coins were issued for the handover, with special design on the observe side? — Instantnood 16:05, Jun 16, 2005 (UTC)

Ah yes. Special designs, if my memory serves me, include Chinese knot, Chinese coins, 5 bats, blah, blah, blah...seemingly there're loads to write! :-D -- Jerry Crimson Mann 16:32, 16 Jun 2005 (UTC)
True. :-D How did you get the permission from HKMA by the way? — Instantnood 17:05, Jun 16, 2005 (UTC)
In its copyright statement:
...The HKMA grants permission to:
Browse, display, download and print materials on this website in its original format for non-commercial use only, provided that proper attribution is given to the HKMA.
--Jerry Crimson Mann 17:12, 16 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Ahh I missed that... :-) — Instantnood 17:46, Jun 16, 2005 (UTC)
  • Guys, for coins - look at the link I used above. The World Coin Gallery gave permission to Wikipedia and he has great scans of HK coins, including those special issues! The only trouble is copying them from that site. I'll work on this with others. SchmuckyTheCat 03:35, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)
    • Wahoo! That's really super-duper! Good on you! -- Jerry Crimson Mann 04:37, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Hk money coins.jpg

[edit]

Image:Hk money coins.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:45, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
