The Matter of the Unpleasant Odour
[edit]While it is correct that the preceding citation does not specifically describe the odor as resembling that of naphtha, I have personally observed that characteristic. I have tried to find a suitable reference to that effect, but have not yet been successful. Nevertheless, I have restored that comment. Please do not delete the text, as I am trying to legitimately add to the knowledge base here. I have no other agenda. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Deceglie (talk • contribs) 14:26, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
I have a number of Hibbertia vines, and the flowers don't have any smell. I've modified the text to represent the status quo. Groogle (talk) 03:54, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
- I haven't detected this odour myself in cultivated plants in Melbourne, but there are many reports of it from various sources. Perhaps it varies with plants, conditions, regions or people's perceptions. However, we need to stick with reliable sources and avoid original research. - Every citation provided for this claim has proved a dead link. I can find no current online source supoorting it. At some point it will have to be removed if no further sources can be found. Darorcilmir (talk) 22:43, 3 September 2019 (UTC)
