Spelling of name
[edit]The spelling of "La" for the first syllable in Leavittsburg isn't all that surprising if it is true (and sorry, I don't have a source for this or else I'd put it in the article) that the name was inspired by the La Brea Tar Pits. The real question is why the school chose to spell the second syllable "Brae", since that's not how La Brea is spelled. Perhaps some effort was made to preserve the spelling of the original schools; i.e. LeAvittsburg-BRAcEville (or BRAcevillE). -- JeffBillman (talk) 01:38, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
