Discussion jerusalem consulates

[edit]

theres no cititation for the fact that consulates in jerusalem don negotiate or tlk to the president of israel. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.180.58.74 (talk) 23:48, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't seen in the history - maybe the user putting this remark has provided source? Anyway, there is inconsistency with the List_of_diplomatic_missions_in_Palestine page, so maybe we should put citation-needed flag? Alinor (talk) 07:27, 29 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

PNA representation

[edit]

Do the Palestinian National Authority or Palestine Liberation Organization have some representation/office/delegation/etc. in Israel? Or some special department(s) in PNA/Israeli governments? The PNA and Israel governments do communicate somehow after all... Alinor (talk) 07:32, 29 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

US offices in Tel Aviv

[edit]

I am not sure the US Embassy branch office in Tel Aviv is in the right location. It is certainly not a Consulates-General. In fact it is not even a mission in its own right. It is basically the office of the Embassy mission in Jerusalem (both share the website https://il.usembassy.gov/).

I think that just as the Italian Consulates-General is only listed once even though they have 2 separate buildings (one in Katamon and one in Sheikh Jarrah) so to the offices in Tel Aviv are part of the Jerusalem embassy and are only in Tel Aviv for space reasons. Due to this i think that there should be no separate listing for the offices in Tel Aviv rather there should be a not by the embassy listing. Bens (talk) 09:10, 17 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

US consulate in Haifa

[edit]

I believe that the USA has closed its consulate in Haifa. Therefore, I dropped it: https://il.usembassy.gov/embassy/consular-agent-in-haifa/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 37.142.2.230 (talk) 12:45, 19 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Royal consulate is not equal to general / regular consulate

[edit]

The Thailand Royal consulate is located at 1st Natanzon street (City building) in Haifa. I believe that its status is not equal to regular / general consulate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 185.120.124.25 (talk) 19:46, 26 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Faroe Islands' representative office should be added

[edit]

The autonomous government of the Faroe Islands had recently opened a representative office in Tel Aviv. See https://www.government.fo/en/news/news/vacancy-announcement-personal-assistant-to-the-representative-of-the-faroe-islands-to-israel/ and https://www.government.fo/en/foreign-relations/missions-of-the-faroe-islands-abroad/the-representation-of-the-faroe-islands-to-israel/.

Trade office

[edit]

A trade office is not a diplomatic mission unless it is staffed by at least one person who has diplomatic status and whose role is to carry out diplomatic duties. I think all such things should be removed from the article. Zerotalk 23:41, 29 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Totally agreed. Done it. Dan Palraz (talk) 10:44, 16 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Also, removed the "To open" list. Some of the countries mentioned had been in the section for years, because a leader who is no longer even in power said he might open an embassy in Jerusalem, whereas others, like Argentina, had already been added because a candidate who is supposed to run in not-even-held-yet elections said he might move it to Jerusalem if he is elected... No other "List of diplomatic missions" articles list missions before they are effectively open, so let's just keep it the same here. Dan Palraz (talk) 09:46, 17 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
An anonymous user keeps trying to restore the "Embassies to open" list, even though some of the sources given are literally "Uganda president says he is 'studying' opening embassy in Jerusalem" or the declaration from the Argentinean candidate who wasn't even elected yet... Indigenous Coalition for Israel

[edit]

I don’t think the Indigenous Coalition for Israel office qualifies for inclusion here as it seems to be a non-diplomatic non profit office. —Gimelthedog (talk) 16:30, 25 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
