Early Life sentence doesn't make sense

The second paragraph of the Early Life section is missing something. It starts "Later the co-author and star of the long-running Broadway show Lightnin' (1998), and Jennie (Weidman) Bacon. . . ." It sound as if the author was the star of a show after he died, and then continues the sentence with something unrelated. Part of the paragraph seems like it might be about his father or parents.
