Tell the reader why she is famous.

[edit]

@Binksternet:

I wanted to "Tell the reader" who she is, so I will restore without birth records. I saw other pages with Cal Birth Index. I will leave her birth name. gettyimages show touring. killing me softly is her main fame. most bios say born to.... I was surprised no info. So I tried to fill that in 98.248.161.240 (talk) 21:01, 11 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You are not going to be successful in this effort. The hard policy of WP:DOB dooms you to failure. Binksternet (talk) 21:04, 11 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
what it looks like is you deleted parents obits , real name and replacement gettyimages
98.248.161.240 (talk) 21:05, 11 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
you are not reading, only restoring real name and obits and a list of gettyimages
what is wrong about that?

Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Lori Lieberman, you may be blocked from editing. Per WP:DOB, you cannot use California Birth Index on living persons. Binksternet (talk) 15:31, 11 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I saw it used on other pages 98.248.161.240 (talk) 20:46, 11 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
"disrupt" is predjudice 98.248.161.240 (talk) 20:47, 11 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If you tell me which living person biographies reference the California Birth Index I will go around and remove such references. We had to wait more than a year after death to use that reference at Nipsey Hussle's biography. The person must not be alive, and they must not have died recently. where is California Birth Index mentioned in wikipedia:wikipedia ?
98.248.161.240 (talk) 21:17, 11 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
WP:BLPPRIMARY says you can't use public records for birthdate or full name. WP:DOB says we can supply the birthday only if it is widely published. Binksternet (talk) 22:10, 11 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Lori Lieberman. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Binksternet (talk) 21:55, 11 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

In this series of edits, you added the middle name Ann which does not appear in your cited sources. The sources are an obituary of Lori's mom which fails WP:USERG, and a nice write-up by Christine Lavin who is an expert observer, but doesn't give us Lori's full name. Obviously you are still relying upon the California Birth Index without explicitly citing it. Binksternet (talk) 22:04, 11 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I said this before I made the edits and you did not respond. This is in the LA Times. In two separate obits. They do not say paid article.
