Mappila Muslim is a subdivision among Mappila.
[edit]Mappila is a term that is used to refer to different Malayalee religious communities with non-Indian origin. This term historically encompasses Christians, Jews and Muslims. So the term Mappila should be used for disambiguation. Br Ibrahim john (talk) 02:21, 7 July 2021 (UTC)

Mappila are descendants of lower caste hindus
[edit]Mappilas are descendants lower caste hindus and not from higher caste hindus like Nair and Namboothiri. Sources include research journals from oxford and other notable sources. Stop vandalism by replacing 'lower' by 'higher' in the lead.

There is a grammatically incorrect sentence in the second paragraph. Please replace "In general, a Muslim Mappila is a descendant of Hindu lower caste native convert to Islam." with "In general, a Muslim Mappila is a descendant of Hindu lower caste natives who converted to Islam."
- Done Many thanks :) The AP (talk) 14:35, 19 November 2024 (UTC)
Data
[edit]I'm sure the pie chart and the table were a lot of work to make. They look good. But they're the same data. Which one do we vote to remove? Drew Stanley (talk) 06:52, 26 November 2024 (UTC)
