The result of the move request was: not moved. No consensus for move. (closed by non-admin page mover) feminist (talk) 07:41, 14 November 2018 (UTC)
– Per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. The New York example is a side-street with little traffic and the London example is extremely short. Seattle's Mercer Street, meanwhile, is a major traffic artery that carries 38,000 to 66,000 vehicles daily (according to counts) and has a well-documented history of continual rebuilding to alleviate congestion, to the point where "Mercer Mess" is part of the local lexicon. - Oppose. Per page view stats, the Manhattan street consistently receives more page views than the Seattle Street, despite the Seattle street being at the base title before I moved it earlier today to set up the disambiguation. -- Tavix (talk) 22:40, 6 November 2018 (UTC)
- WP:PRIMARYTOPIC says that determinations using single tools like pageviews (which can be biased based on incoming links, longevity, and readership distribution) should not be used as an absolute rule. An incognito Google search shows a roughly similar number of results (127K for Seattle vs. 151K for Manhattan/NYC), but the NYC one includes real estate listings and the like (and as Seattle's is a thru-way instead of a neighborhood street, it would lack those). - Oppose Per the stats, the other 2 get 7x the views of this one, even though it was at the base name. The argument about long-term significance may be enough to prevent the New York street from being primary, but not make the Seattle one primary. Note that all 3 articles were created in the last few years. Crouch, Swale (talk) 09:40, 7 November 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose. No clear primary topic here. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:43, 7 November 2018 (UTC)
- Move Obviously. Neither Mercer Street, London nor Mercer Street (Manhattan) is even notable enough to have an article at all. Both will be gone if nominated at AfD. --Dennis Bratland (talk) 16:16, 7 November 2018 (UTC)
