Reliable sources

[edit]

Editors are reminded to use reliable independent sources in all articles, including this one. Facebook and other social media are not generally accepted. Same goes for advertorials and native advertising. I've opened up a question at the Reliable Sources Noticeboard regarding native advertising in beautypageants.indiatimes.com, which for some reason is referred to as "Miss India Beauty Pageants" in 35 sources here. -- Bri.public (talk) 20:40, 9 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

India Times not an independent reliable source for this article

[edit]

The Times Group has an financial interest in beauty pageants: see Femina Miss India. Further, their site beautypageants.indiatimes.com has a disclaimer that it is not news but native advertising and lists a commercial pageant entity as a contact and presumably the content editor. There is consensus at WP:RSN to treat it as a blog, i.e. WP:SPS and not of general use for citations. ☆ Bri (talk) 14:25, 10 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Other blogs

[edit]
  • awardgoesto.com
  • heatherhook.com
  • pageantcircle.com

Same comment as above for awardgoesto.com [1] and heatherhook.com [2], each clearly one individual's blog ☆ Bri (talk) 14:33, 10 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Also pageantcircle.com – [3] no valid contact information on their website other than a gmail address; their Facebook page states "PAGEANTCircle.com is a fansite/blog" ☆ Bri (talk) 23:01, 1 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
