Made a remarkable career ...

Данные о "замечательной карьере" Ланского после брака со вдовой Пушкина сильно преувеличены: Ланской был генералом и командиром лейб-гвардии Конного полка ещё до знакомства с Натальей Николаевной и никаких данных об «особом карьерном росте» после брака с ней нет. О том же, что Пушкина была любовницей Николая I нет ни одного достоверного свидетельства ни в русских, ни, что ещё более важно, в зарубежных источниках того времени.
