Redirecting to MIT
[edit]Why? The topic of "Open CourseWare" is much bigger than MIT now. At the beginning this redirect made sense, but now it is limiting in scope. This can be evidenced by the fact that "Category:OpenCourseWare" has multiple institutions (and that list is a very small sample of the many institutions creating OCW or OER). The problem really shows itself when someone searches for "open course ware" and is immediately sent to MIT's OCW page instead of a page about "open course ware." The new broad term for this topic is "Open Educational Resources" and that WP article is pretty well written. -- Greg.grossmeier (talk) 14:36, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

- OpenCourseWare would be an even better redirect. It's legitimate to think of OCW sites as a subset of a much broader set of OER. Mike Linksvayer (talk) 15:27, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
