I read the case I couldn't find the words Unassimmilable anywhere. I request a citation. -Rob
As I've noted over at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Bhagat_Singh_Thind#Emigrated_to_United_States, the phrase "persons of African nativity or persons of African descent" is unsourced here and appears to be made up. The phrase also does not appear anywhere in the 1790 Naturalization Act or the 1906 Naturalization Act. Indeed, the phrase appears on the internet only 23 times, and in nearly all cases is just a copy of this Wikipedia Ozawa entry. (https://www.google.com/search?q=%22persons+of+African+nativity+or+persons+of+African+descent%22&safe=active&rlz=1C1GGRV_enUS758US758&ei=7AFVWuqEDs3ojwOHxazwBw&start=20&sa=N&biw=1600&bih=1072)
The phrase should, at least, not be a quote unless it can be cited, and does not appear to be an accurate portrayal of US immigration law in the early 20th century. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Beanbag82 (talk • contribs) 18:05, 9 January 2018 (UTC)
Neutrality
[edit]This is an interesting piece, but I'm concerned about the neutrality of it. Other than the grammar part of it, I feel like the section "Impact of case" needs to be reworked on. It seems a bit more like a reaction to the case, not an explanation.
I suggest we look at what other "Impact of case" sections look like.
A lot of the other parts of the sections are really over the edge in terms of neutrality. Also, kudos to whoever started this page. Voraciousdolphin (talk) 19:31, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
Impact of the Case
[edit]I decided to combine the section that used to be Impact of the Case and Reaction because I thought they were trying to convey similar ideas and the fact that the Reaction section was lacking and needed expansion. I also attempted to make it seem like a more neutral viewpoint and tried to fix the grammar slightly. Also added a citation on the comment that Ozawa made about the case.
