There are some great pages about travelers on Wikipedia like Marco Polo and Ibn Batuta, to serve as inspiration. The page could be expanded to include
1 (18th century) illustrations of the places he visited, and
2 a map image showing his travels.
Secondly the sketch / illustration of the sanyasi himself seems to have been much favoured in Europe as a stock image for a yogi; I have seen it redrawn, reprinted and even colorized[1] up to 50 years later[2].
