Succession box
[edit]The succession box showing Cecily FitzJohn having succeeded her husband as earl is incorrect. The earldom fell into abeyance upon Roger's death until 1199. Author Jennifer C. Ward states that Roger's eldest sister Margaret of Hereford exercised lordship of Hereford as a widow. She also received the hereditary Office of Constable. Her son was invested as Earl of Hereford by King John in 1199.--Jeanne Boleyn (talk) 09:12, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

Roger Fitzmiles, 2nd Earl of Hereford → Roger FitzMiles, 2nd Earl of Hereford – Case to match Henry FitzMiles. I am proposing it this way since I don't have a strong opinion on which capitalization of FitzMiles/Fitzmiles/fitz Miles is best, only that two brothers should use the same form. There does not seem to be consistency on WP regarding Normans with 'fitz' names. Srnec (talk) 20:21, 5 January 2025 (UTC)
