A note for users jumping the Gun - WP:Crystal
[edit]From WP:Crystal, "Dates are not definite until the event actually takes place, as even otherwise-notable events can be cancelled or postponed at the last minute by a major incident.", don't switch this page until the switch to a republic occurs on the 30th. Dame Sandra Mason
[edit]The prefix "Dame" has been removed from the infobox. One editor feels that her damehood is now honorary and should not be included. I am of the personal opinion that she is still entitled to be called "Dame Sandra Mason". At her inauguration she was called "Her Excellency The Most Honourable Dame Sandra Mason" (the inauguration can be seen here). Векочел (talk) 17:16, 3 December 2021 (UTC)
- Isn't she a Dame of St Andrew as well? Peter Ormond 💬 17:22, 3 December 2021 (UTC)
- Knight or Dame of St Andrew is the highest rank in the Order of Barbados. Векочел (talk) 22:38, 3 December 2021 (UTC)
- If the Barbadian government hasn't eliminated the title, since the country became a republic? Then I've no objections to its use. GoodDay (talk) 20:34, 3 December 2021 (UTC)
As the Barbadian government still uses the title, I think it should be readded. Векочел (talk) 22:38, 3 December 2021 (UTC)
