Motivation for Merges

[edit]

I've put back the merge tags on all sections. The origin of this article (made by an anonymous, replacing the redirecto to scintillation counter) seems to be kind of a research on detectors for homeland security, so it's kind of a funny mix. The general section overlaps almost completely with Scintillation counter, and the characteristics of sigle types of scintillators should be in that article. Then there are parts on algorithms, on neutron detectors... each of which could actually contribute some content to the relevant articles. So I believe that it should be split and merged, and in the end replaced with a link to scintillation counter. Sergio Ballestrero 20:45, 28 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

How about one big article that describes the general stuff (Scintillator looks like a good start). And a individual pages for each specific type --88.107.19.63 16:42, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
