The singles listing is highly incomplete, and I can't sort through previous edits (which included a "videography" section) to get the information I need. Would someone plese help by adding in the missing singles releases to the singles chart? Thank you. --FuriousFreddy 18:10, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
Mixtapes
I'm unclear as to the reason a large amount of recently added material, apparently mainly concerning mixtapes, has been removed from this article. Could the person who removed the material explain? I accept that some of it may be unverifiable but quite a lot of it is verified. --Tony Sidaway|Talk 00:23, 25 December 2005 (UTC)
Featured singles
That section looks like shit, from 1991 until like 1998 or so it has covers and stuff and then from like 1998-1999 it doesn't have any covers and it looks different. Can someone just make it look all the same? --- 74.109.26.185 21:42, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
- It was me who created the original table-based single list, since the disco was so stubby earlier. I colpleted it and divided into sections with their names placed only at the top of the first row (check page history). Than I started to transform it into the new form following the trend of other artists' pages. I ceased it mainly because of the "new" image uploading rules unitl it gets clear how they (the covers) should be tagged if even they are allowed to be used for such a cameo list. It is worthy to note that these pics are also hard to find. Since no feedback arrived for a half an year to help me decide which style is better I had no motivation to continue. You personally didn't voted pro-or-contra neither just commented the mixture. Any assisstance is appreciated. Lajbi Holla @ me 14:03, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
Confusing
I am sorry, but I really do not understand what is going on from 1998 to present, aside from the fact that it is made without any images, which you explained to me above, I do not understand what all those columns are for, can you name them or something? One of them only has " - " and nothing else, the last column I mean. --- 72.142.212.28 14:01, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, you're right. The header is missing because it was attached above to the first single Deep Cover, and I satrted to transform from top to bottom. BTW the new (+cover) boxes also contain the same data. These are : Title
US Hot 100 US R&B / Hip-Hop US Rap UK Singles Chart Best performance (chart type) Title Main artist Video Director
But I will reconsider completing the table (or reverting it) to a final homogene form. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lajbi (talk • contribs) 15:40, 6 May 2007 (UTC).

There's a hidden message that the article looks best in 1024 x 768 resolution. Not usre why this is necessary, I don't think people should be changing their screen resolution or computer to view the page. Tayquan hollaMy work 12:31, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Bad azz - we be puttin it down.JPG
Image:Bad azz - we be puttin it down.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 00:27, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
Getcha Girl Dogg
Should this page link to the Jan 2008 bootleg "Getcha Girl Dogg"? The wikipedia page for it claims that it was released by Snoop Dogg and that it's bootleg, but cites no sources. Alberrosidus (talk) 18:49, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
Questionable Source
The RIAA database confirmes a certification of 4x Multi-Platinum for Doggystyle, but the sales is listed at over 6 million. That would put the album at 6x Multi-Platinum. A few other albums also have sales figures included which don't mach up with the RIAA certifications. Since the RIAA is the organization that tracks record sales, the contradicting certification and sales makes the Billboard Magazine source to be highly questionable.Odin's Beard (talk) 15:04, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
- Nonono. Sales are counted upon Soundscan numbers, but it is not converted into gold/platina every 5k sequence. RIAA rules applies only to the sales of one pressing (probably the first), which reaches the standards, re-releases starts theirs stats from zero again. One pressing runs for an year or so, then if it sells out in stocks it'll gets re-produced. Doggystyle was certified 4x platina in its first year of release, and moved additional 2 mills in the rest 14 years (Koch still distributes it under his catalog number (instead of the original Death Row (DRR) copies), which indicates the label and series of production). And BTW calling Billboard mag questionable is kinda incompetent for me. Lajbi Holla @ me 11:33, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
Stupid question
I know the singles selection isn't complete, but what about the albums, where is "a tribute to 2-pac"? Matt Zero (talk) 21:09, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
Let the Bass Go
Advising to add "Let the Bass Go" to somewhere, since it's a track he made for Turbo (film). Lapibacsi (talk) 17:47, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
Where to find old SoundScan figures (don't just make them up!)
Hey, so I just deleted a ton of figures from the page because it had gotten clogged with numbers that seemed estimated at best or blatantly made up at worst. Don't do this!! If y'all wanna compile random fan estimates somewhere else that's fine, but this page needs actual sources. So look in actual sources to find the numbers.
For older albums in his discography (2005 or earlier), I recommend looking at Billboard's annual run-down of 1m+-selling albums that they used to publish every year. Since each list covers figures from just that year, you can add the numbers together from the same album if it appears on the list in two consecutive years to get a "total figure". Of course they won't be completely up-to-date, but sales for a particular album tend to drop off precipitously after a couple years anyway. Anyways here are the lists for each year, see if you find anything there...
1993 1994 1995 1996 1997 1998 1999 2000 2001 2002 2003 2004 2005
For newer figures, I guess just try searching "soundscan" + the album name on Google or Google Books or whatever and see if you find anything. But don't just add shit you made up, or 'cite' some random number you pulled out of your ass with a legit-looking source that doesn't actually have any numbers in it! Mmrsofgreen (talk) 05:29, 8 May 2015 (UTC)
RIAA is NOT Soundscan
Stop inflation Doggystyle's certification. It isn't certified 6x Platinum, despite legitimately selling 6 million copies in the U.S. If you want to reference the Soundscan numbers, feel free. But don't mix Soundscan's total with the RIAA.

Orphaned references in Snoop Dogg discography
I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Snoop Dogg discography's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Split
- The following discussion is an archived record of a request for comment. Please do not modify it. No further edits should be made to this discussion. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
Support split - Article is more than 300 kB, and should be split into five articles entitled as follows
- Snoop Dogg albums discography
- Snoop Dogg songs discography
- Snoop Dogg charted songs discography
- Snoop Dogg featured singles discography
- Snoop Dogg guest songs discography

Adding RFC
Adding RFC to determine whether or not Snoop Dogg discography split should be split. --Jax 0677 (talk) 18:04, 23 March 2018 (UTC)
- Support split. Yes, the page certainly is long, sufficiently so that I found it difficult to navigate. Splitting it up makes sense. --Tryptofish (talk) 23:22, 23 March 2018 (UTC)
- Support split into Snoop Dogg albums discography and Snoop Dogg singles discography ("songs discography" is incorrect naming convention). Most of the problems here are cleanup issues, not size issues. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 17:37, 27 March 2018 (UTC)
- Condense - This has an amazing amount of prose for a discography, much of which is redundant. It would seem you could first trim out about half the prose and then see if it was still needing a a split. Until it is cleaned up, I would oppose a split. Once cleaned up, a split may or many not be needed, but a cleanup should be done first. Dennis Brown - 2¢ 15:33, 30 March 2018 (UTC)
- Reply - @Dennis Brown:, be bold! The singles discography is more than 200kB without a long lead, with the albums discography being just over 80kB with the long lead. If I am incorrect, then prove me wrong. --Jax 0677 (talk) 16:28, 30 March 2018 (UTC)
- I was looking at it, but was hesitant while the RFC is going on, plus this time of year, I'm working 70+ hours a week. Only reason I made it here was the note by the bot on my talk page. Lots of entries have labels that don't need it, could be tightened up. There is benefit to keeping this one page, as far as accessibility of the complete works on a single page. Key is making it more readable and reducing all the item:entry tags where they items aren't needed. Dennis Brown - 2¢ 16:30, 30 March 2018 (UTC)
- Reply - @Dennis Brown:, then the page should be trimmed in the very near future. If this page can not be trimmed in the near future, it should be split for now, with both pages merged when they are smaller. --Jax 0677 (talk) 16:44, 30 March 2018 (UTC)
- Splitting a broken article just produces two broken articles, and from an editorial perspective, that is a terrible choice. It makes fixing it even more difficult. Plus, again, there is a lot of benefit to having all the information on one page if it is possible, and in this case, it is possible. The WP:MOS doesn't list splitting as a solution to article bloat. Dennis Brown - 2¢ 16:46, 30 March 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks Dennis, that makes a lot of sense. Splitting just for the sake of splitting is never a good idea. An according to the WP:SIZERULE "rule of thumb", size issues pertain to readable prose and apply less strongly to list articles, which discography pages are. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 17:20, 30 March 2018 (UTC)
- Exactly. The tables could be tightened up, and the prose can be some as well. There is a lot of inconsistency in table to table as well, although sometimes that is unavoidable. For example, the "reissue" doesn't need a new table. You can put that album in the main album's table with the note "reissue of Malice in Wonderland" under the title. Since there is only one "reissue", have a stand alone table is a waste of space and makes it harder to view his whole discography. Arguably, you could do the same with the EPs, which number 3. These aren't "must do" things, they are just ideas. The main goal is (and should be) to make the format easy for the average reader who isn't an expert on Snoop to read and understand. Separate sections helps, but isn't always the best solution for singular or small groups of items. By the same token, breaking down his singles by decades looks good, as that does make it easier to read and each table is large enough to justify it. One more thing to note, the "Notes" section is pretty wordy. Dennis Brown - 2¢ 11:30, 31 March 2018 (UTC)
- Reply - Ordinarily, I would not disagree that "Splitting just for the sake of splitting is never a good idea", however, 300 kB is a lot of data for one discography article, and many artists such as Madonna, George Jones and Selena have singles discographies. --Jax 0677 (talk) 14:44, 31 March 2018 (UTC)
- WP:WAX applies, but more importantly, my point is that splitting should be done as a last resort. There is a lot of cleanup that can be done first which may remove the necessity of a split. Over half of the content of the page are notes, sources and formatting. We haven't exhausted other options, and if all things are equal, the reader is best served if all the info is on one page. That isn't always possible, but it is preferable from the reader's perspective. Dennis Brown - 2¢ 15:31, 31 March 2018 (UTC)
- Comment - Snoop has done a lot of stuff so naturally the discog will have a lot of long lists. The first thing that needs to be done is to significantly condense the prose in the lead section, which is largely a repeat of the history from his main article. A 1-2 paragraph introduction to the discog, instead of the giant entry we see now, will solve some problems. Also, I do not think that the list of guest appearances is necessary for this discog article because such songs are described in the articles for the respective main artists, but I am undecided on whether it should be split or just eliminated altogether. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 14:15, 6 April 2018 (UTC)
