@Peteforsyth:, would you object to rephrasing "Leadership of both Street Roots and SAFE disavowed any editorial influence connected with the grant, focusing on the two organizations' shared commitment to "providing a service for the homeless." into reading "Exceutive director of Street Roots disavowed any editorial influence connected with the grant. Two organizations share commitment to "providing a service for the homeless." ? Unless I missed something, I am not seeing anything in the Willamette Week article indicating SAFE leadership took any position on the editorial matter. I phrased it that way due to this paragraph in the WW article:
Chisek, a non-voting member of the SAFE committee, says moderating Street Roots ’ editorial stance wasn’t a consideration. “Understandably, it seems like it would be an awkward position for Street Roots ,” Chisek says. However, he adds, the committee and Street Roots shared a common purpose: providing a service for the homeless.
