They are signed to Pale Chord, not Rise
[edit]The current lead reads "They are currently signed to Rise Records and Pale Chord".
Multiple sources [1], [2] cite Vocalist James DeBerg confirming their signing to Pale Chord in September 2022. And Pale confirm this at the bottom of their press release regarding "Hell finds you everywhere"[3]
What makes this confusing is the fact, that Pale seems to rely on Rise Records (BMG) for publishing by licensing to them exclusively[4].
It is confusing to see them signed to multiple labels at the same time, as these contracts are usually exclusive. You'd sometimes see, when a minor is a subsidiary of a major label, that both labels are mentioned. Then the minor is usually mentioned first. But from what I can see this is not the case here, Pale Chord Music, LLC is a project run by Jason Mageau[5].
Either way I think it should be changed, the following I find acceptable:
- "They are currently signed to Pale Chord and have released three full-length albums and one EP."
- "They are currently signed to Pale Chord in partnership with Rise Records and have released three full-length albums and one EP."
- "They are currently signed to Pale Chord / Rise Records and have released three full-length albums and one EP."
- "They have released three full-length albums and one EP. Their music is currently released through their label, Pale Chord, via a partnership with Rise Records." (similar to Spiritbox)
The latter might be confusing as long as there is no article on Pale Chord that might clear thing up.
Then we can also get rid of the [citation needed] for Hell Finds You Everywhere.
Am I doing this Wikipedia thing right? First time doing this.
