The result of the move request was: Move. While redirects can be primary topics, the evidence presented here and the consensus of participants indicate that the band is the primary topic. Cúchullain t/c 13:05, 16 March 2015 (UTC)
Trapped Under Ice (band) → Trapped Under Ice – Currently redirects to a Metallica album featuring a song of the same name. This article is more important than the redirect; a hatnote can be added to it instead. --MASHAUNIX 18:24, 12 February 2015 (UTC)
- Comment – need to see page view statistics here, because I strongly suspect that the Metallica song is the PRIMARYTOPIC which means this proposed move may be a bad idea. --IJBall (talk) 20:44, 12 February 2015 (UTC)
- Can a redirect really be a primary topic? If the song had its own page, then by all means. But in this case, a hatnote to the album will do just as well as a redirect would. As for wikilinks, 7 articles link to the song whereas 9 articles link to the band.--MASHAUNIX 21:14, 12 February 2015 (UTC)
- Make that 6 and 10, one of the links to the song was meant for the band.--MASHAUNIX 21:19, 12 February 2015 (UTC)
- "Can a redirect really be a primary topic?" - Good question. I associate the topic title with the Metallica song. I think if you did a straw poll to music fans, most would also associate it with Metallica first. Looking at the article for the band, to me it doesn't meet the notability of a band. WP:BAND #5 states "Has released two or more albums on a major record label or on one of the more important indie labels". This band has released only two albums, on a label that doesn't (yet) have its own article, hence not meeting this requirement. The current article shows the band existed, but doesn't really offer any WP:GNG. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 09:28, 13 February 2015 (UTC)
- In that case propose deletion. As to which is a primary topic right now, I think the pageviews linked below speak clearly.--MASHAUNIX 10:47, 13 February 2015 (UTC)
- Pageviews on their own aren't enough to justify a move. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 12:42, 13 February 2015 (UTC)

- Support. For what it's worth, yes, you can absolutely have a WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT. But there will never be an article on the Metallica song, and there's already one on the band. (Pageviews: the redirect to the album has been viewed barely a tenth as much as the band's page.) Red Slash 03:26, 13 February 2015 (UTC)
- Great, thanks for the info.--MASHAUNIX 08:58, 13 February 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose per my comments above. The song is the most likely outcome when searched for. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 12:42, 13 February 2015 (UTC)

- Support per Red Slash. As long as the Metallica song doesn't have its own article, there's not really much to discuss. If the song is not notable enough to merit an article, but the band is notable enough to merit an article, how can the song be a primary topic? When I Googled this term, the top few entries referred to the band as well. I think this is quite clear cut. — Amakuru (talk) 14:48, 20 February 2015 (UTC)
- Support. Good to have a hatnote pointing to the album tracklist (not just the album article), but if there's only one article by this title, there's no need to disambiguate. Andrewa (talk) 12:05, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
- Support as I agree that the band is a better primary target than the album with a song by this name. 66.235.50.168 (talk) 06:03, 16 March 2015 (UTC)
