Draft

[edit]

On behalf of Trendyol, and as part of my work at Beutler Ink, I will be submitting a series of edit requests for this Wikipedia article. As always, I have disclosed by conflict of interest above and on my profile page.

There are quite a few issues with the current article, including inaccurate and outdated text, inappropriate use of the company's official website, and poor organization (as evidenced by two sections relating to investment history). My edit requests are an attempt to make the entry more complete, accurate, and organized.

I'll be submitting specific requests below. Thanks in advance for any help! Inkian Jason (talk) 17:50, 6 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of content based on company website

[edit]

First, I'd like to seek removal of Trendyol#Products, which includes only the following sentence sourced by the company' website:

  • Trendyol's main product categories include men and women's fashion, shoes and bags, accessories and watches, children's products, cosmetics, electronics, books, hobby and lifestyle, sports and outdoor, and electronics.[1]

References

  1. ^ "Trendyol: One Stop Fashion Shop". www.trendyol.com.

I'd like to think this is a noncontroversial suggestion but would prefer if editors could review and update the article appropriately. Thanks! Inkian Jason (talk) 17:50, 6 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Group companies subsection

[edit]

The Trendyol#Trendyol_Go section has a single sentence sourced by the company's website:

  • Trendyol Go is Trendyol's food and grocery delivery service.[1]

References

  1. ^ "Who We Are". www.trendyol.com. Retrieved 2023-07-28.

I propose removal and would appreciate if someone could make this update for me.

Thanks again! Inkian Jason (talk) 17:59, 6 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

History

[edit]

Thanks for removing the inappropriately sourced text. Next, I'd like to suggest a start to a new History section focused on the company's founding and executive leadership:

Trendyol was co-founded by Demet Mutlu (pictured in 2013) in 2010.
Trendyol was co-founded by Demet Mutlu, Evren Üçok,[1] and Begüm Tekin,[2] in 2010.[3] Üçok is the Chairperson,[3] Erdem Inan is the CEO,[4] and Çağlayan Çetin is the President.[5]

I've included an image of Demet Mutlu because she is independently notable and because the article is otherwise unillustrated. If implemented, the entry will also require changes to the introduction and infobox. Reviewing editors are welcome to make adjustments now but I plan to submit a replacement infobox and improved introductory language in subsequent requests. For now, my goal is to add mention of the company's co-founders and current leadership based on Wikipedia-appropriate sources.

Thanks for reviewing and updating the article appropriately, Inkian Jason (talk) 21:34, 6 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question: Are you just requesting the image be added to the infobox? PK650 (talk) 06:31, 7 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@PK650 I'm suggesting the image be added to a new History section. For organizational purposes, I think the article would benefit from having a History section with subsections for Funding and ownership, Operations, and Sponsorships (as seen here). The article is currently poorly organized and I plan to submit additional edit requests seeking improvement, but for now I think creating History would be helpful. Thanks!
