Orphaned references in United Lutheran Seminary

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of United Lutheran Seminary's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "HMdb":

  • From Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg: Swain, Craig (October 2, 2008). "First Home of Seminary and College" (HMdb.org webpage, marker 12004). Retrieved 2011-08-11.
  • From Schmucker Hall: Swain, Craig (October 2, 2008). "First [sic] Home of Seminary and College" (HMdb.org webpage, marker 12004). Retrieved 2011-08-11.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 02:08, 21 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Use of court documents as primary sources

[edit]

An unregistered editor is insisting that this article include two statements that are only supported by a court document. First, this editor has added that "The Rev. James Dunlop, bishop of the ELCA's Lower Susquehanna Synod, served as acting president; he later resigned from the board because of racist comments he had made while president.[1] (text added by the unregistered editor in italics). Second, this editor has added "Both Green and Dunlop were sued for creating a hostile work environment."[2] Both of these statements are supported only by a court document. This is clearly a primary source and cannot establish that this information has appropriate due weight, one of the primary (no pun intended) reasons we don't typically use court documents.
